What is the EIC Accelerator?
The EIC Accelerator is a subsidy for companies that develop innovations with a high potential and high risk. These innovations create new markets or disrupt existing ones. The ruling accelerates upscaling towards the international market.
The EIC Accelerator subsidizes the development of science-based, cutting edge innovative technologies, such as deep tech. Deep tech companies oftentimes provide solutions for complex societal and environmental challenges and have the potential to impact daily life. An example of such technology are silicon chips, which allow for calculations at a previously unimaginable speed and scope.
Am I eligible for the EIC Accelerator?
The EIC Accelerator solely supports SMEs. You are eligible when your innovation has been validated and is almost ready to go to market.
What must I do for the EIC Accelerator?
You are free to choose a scope, as long as it includes a societal challenge. The primary assessment criteria are the following:
Excellence. How innovative is your project? Is it a "need to have" or "nice to have"? How large is the problem you'll solve and will you truly make a difference?
Impact: What's the perspective of the potential customer? How scalable is the innovation and what is the plan for internationalisation?
Implementation: How is the development executed? Are the right people involved?
The Grant Only subsidy requires you to demonstrate how the remaining 30% of the costs will be paid for, both during and after the project.
What do I gain through the EIC Accelerator?
There are several possibilities. The Grant Only option subsidizes 70% of the project costs, with a maximum amount of €2,5 million.
Are your own means of financing limited? Then the Blended Finance option might be the solution. This consist of both subsidy and equity. Blended finance requires a fully developed and validated product, process or service which is ready to go to market.
Lastly there's the Grant with Consent. This offers a counterbid and meeans that not all of the budgeted expenses will be reimbursed.
How do we help you?
First we provide a critical screening, because only projects and/or organisations which adhere to all of the requirements have a chance to apply. Next, we write your application and handle all of the communication regarding the application and interim reports with the European committee. Lastly, we coach you with arranging and maintaining the required administration.
