From Logistics to Funding Advice
I have been working at Ugoo for almost four years as a Consultant Innovation & Funding. I support companies in making the most of innovation and sustainability funding, with WBSO and the Innovation Box as my main areas of expertise, alongside extensive experience with SLIM, ERDF and DEI+. In addition to supporting clients, I play an active role internally in coaching colleagues and improving our processes.
I started my career in logistics, including four years in a management role. That may seem far removed from funding advice, but it taught me skills I still use every day: leading teams, switching gears quickly and getting things done when the pressure is high.
During my studies, I conducted two research projects at a logistics company, both focused on process optimisation. That was when I first realised where my strengths lie: understanding complex challenges and turning them into concrete improvements.

My view on funding
In an initial conversation with entrepreneurs, I almost always hear the same three responses: “It takes a lot of time on our end,” “The administration is a hassle and I can’t get my team on board,” and “We probably don’t qualify anyway.” I understand these concerns. They are also exactly why my approach starts with taking the work off your hands.
In practice, this means we handle almost the entire process. I only ask for input when it’s genuinely needed, and together we look at how to keep the administration as straightforward as possible, while fitting it into the way you already work. As for whether a company qualifies: more often than not, it turns out they do. Once we dive into the details, there are almost always opportunities in areas you might not have expected, or combinations of funding schemes that can reinforce each other.
EFRO Sprint at the end of December
Between 20 and 31 December, I developed and submitted a complete ERDF project, even though there was officially no budget left. The application was fully approved, and the project is now progressing according to plan.
