What is STUDI?

The TSE Industry Studies scheme has been renamed to Studies for Sustainable Industry (STUDI). This change is part of a broader restructuring. The former Topsector Energie (TSE) programme has been replaced by Energy Innovation NL, as the previous top sector structure no longer aligned with current policy.

With the STUDI scheme, you receive support for carrying out feasibility studies, environmental studies, and other preparatory research. The focus is on innovative projects that help make your industrial processes more sustainable and significantly reduce CO₂ emissions.

This subsidy allows you to assess whether your sustainable investment project is technically, economically, and legally feasible. It also provides insight into the next steps towards implementation, such as pilot or demonstration projects.

In 2026, a total budget of €45.8 million is available, divided across three programme lines. You can use the subsidy for studies that support the planning and substantiation of sustainable investments. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure to apply in time.

Everything about STUDI

The most important questions about STUDI are answered here. Is your question missing?

What is STUDI?

STUDI is a subsidy programme focused on assessing the feasibility of energy innovations. It provides funding for feasibility studies in the field of sustainability.

Am I eligible for STUDI?

STUDI is intended for both SMEs and large companies that carry out a project at their own expense and risk. Partnerships can also apply for the subsidy, provided they include at least one company.

What must I do for STUDI?

The TSE Industry Studies scheme supports projects and research in the early stage of the development phase. It focuses on three types of studies:

  • Feasibility studies: carried out prior to pilot projects. The aim is to support decision-making in an objective and well-informed way by identifying opportunities and risks.

  • Environmental studies: conducted in preparation for environmental investments.

  • Comparable studies: aimed at preparing environmental investments within a demonstration project.

What do I gain through STUDI?

The subsidy amount depends on the type of study, the program line, the project size and the size of the applying business.
